We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a minimum of 3 years working for an engineering company. The ideal candidate will have substantial expertise in detailed design for greenfield Low Voltage Power distribution, offshore platform design, HV substations design, and lighting design.
Main Activities:
- Assess client requirements and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Prepare a comprehensive list of anticipated electrical deliverables.
- Provide input to the 3D model and ensure follow-through.
- Collaborate with other disciplines (MDR, planning, process, mechanical, weight control, etc.).
- Coordinate effectively with clients.
- Prepare necessary data sheets and requisition packages for procuring or modifying electrical components (switchgear, transformers, UPS, etc.).
- Review vendor bids and associated documentation.
- Select and size power cables with support from an engineer.
- Determine the sizing of main cable trays and penetrations.
- Develop detailed electrical design deliverables, including:
- Load list (excluding load and power system studies) with engineer support.
- Key one-line diagram with engineer support.
- Single line diagrams for main switchgear and distribution boards.
- Cable lists.
- Cable routing plans.
- Layouts for main cable trays and penetrations.
- Main electrical equipment layouts.
- Earthing layouts.
- Lighting and small power layouts.
- Hazardous area plans.
- Block and connection diagrams.
- MTO (Material Take-Off).
Requirements:
- Proven experience in greenfield Low Voltage Power distribution detailed design.
- Extensive experience in offshore platform design.
- Skilled in HV substations design.
- Proficient in lighting design.
- In-depth knowledge of LV distribution systems, including LV switchgear, UPS systems, and LV distribution boards.
- Proficient in preparing detailed electrical design deliverables, such as cable lists, LV distribution block diagrams (SLDs), small power/lighting/earthing layouts, termination diagrams, installation typical electrical hookups, mounting typicals, and cable selection/calculation.
- Familiar with 3D modeling tools such as Navisworks and Smart Plant instrumentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client coordination.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
